Fusioncorp Developments Supports 14-year-old Car Racer who Survived Bone Marrow Cancer

Recently, Fusioncorp Developments hosted a fundraiser dinner and poker tournament raising $15,000 to help a teen pursue his car racing passion, partnering with bone marrow transplant recipient Ollie Ferguson’s team, Olliestrong Racing, for his 2024 rookie season.
“Ollie Ferguson was born a race fan,” said Fusioncorp CEO and Co-Founder Nick Ainis. “He attended his first NASCAR Canada race when he was 9 months old. At four, he experienced serious health issues requiring a bone marrow transplant. He fought for over two years to overcome the ramifications of the transplant. With his family at his side and his sister as his donor, Ollie was able to beat Myelodysplasia (MDS), a rare bone marrow cancer.”
“Said his father Rob Ferguson, “When Ollie turned nine and regained his health, he started racing Jr. Late Model race cars. Having won some races, Ollie moved on to the next level. At 13, he raced full-size stock cars in the Ontario Sportsman Series (OSS), competing with some of the best adult drivers in Ontario. He won Most Promising New Talent and Hard Charger 2023 (for the most cars passed). This month he scored first in the OSS with a win at Sauble Beach, making him the youngest OSS winner at 14 years of age.”
